A fine group of young men and woman who achieved a huge amount both within and outside the world of soccer. Whether it was All-American honors, or college Goalkeeper of the Year awards, or coaching nationally ranked programs, or coaching professional goalkeepers, or professional Goalkeeper of the Year Awards in a foreign professional league for soccer, or great professional success in the business world, each member made impressive accomplishments. We are proud of them most of all as individuals.

Paul joined the Academy in the summer of 2011. Paul was a very good keeper, a person of excellent character and intelligence, and one of the most successful club and high school keepers in Academy One's history. As a member and starter for his Soccer Association of Columbia team, Paul won five Maryland State Cup championships. His SAC team appeared in another two finals and even another final four. Paul was a member of the Maryland State ODP team for two years back before US Academy Soccer, when ODP was an important factor in youth soccer. Paul's high school soccer career was equally impressive. Playing for Marriotts Ridge High School, Paul led the school to a national ranking, a prestigious Howard County Championship and an appearance in the Maryland state final four. Paul was named to the All-County team three times, All-Met two times and Maryland All-State team once. Paul was the German club president and a four year honor student when he graduated from Marriotts Ridge. Paul accepted a scholarship to attend the national soccer power West Virginia University. While at West Virginia, Paul was a constant on the Dean's list and was named a Big East Conference Academic All-Star. He was also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. West Virginia earned a trip to the NCAA tournament in Paul's time at the school. After two years at West Virginia, Paul transferred to Stevens Institute of Technology in Newark, New Jersey. Stevens is one of the best academic universities in the country, as well as a national NCAA Division III soccer power. Paul earned the starting position in his first year for the nationally ranked program. In his first season at Stevens, Paul had a huge impact and led the team to the Empire 8 Conference Championship and a national ranking. Paul's season ended in the "Elite 8" when his team lost to an inferior Amhearst team 1-0. At the end of the season, Paul was named Empire 8 All-Conference. During his summers while in college, Paul was a member of the DC United Super Y-League teams and their national power U-20 team. In the summer of 2011, Paul was a member of the Real Maryland PDL team along with fellow Academy members Will Swaim, Matt McElroy and Dustin Butcher. That team finished in the top third of the highly competitive Northeast Region. Once he moved to New Jersey for college, Paul would play for the New Jersey Rangers in the PDL League. Paul's next college year was even more impressive then his first. Killian had a superb playing season in 2012 when he went 18-3-1 with an 0.40 goals-against average, 12 shutouts and an 0.894 save percentage. He was named the National Goalkeeper of the Year by D3soccer.com and the website also tabbed him as a first-team All-American. Paul finished as one of the greatest goalkeepers in Stevens Institute history with a 50-8-3 record as a starter. One could even say that he was one of the best goalkeepers in NCAA Division III history. Paul finished his undergraduate degree in Business and Technology and Marketing. Injuries prevented Paul from accepting professional playing opportunities. Paul also turned down job opportunities in New York City to immediately pursue a career in coaching. Paul helped lead the Stevens Institute team as a coach to continued success. After a couple seasons and completing his Master's Degree in Management, Paul accepted the offer to become the Associate Head Coach at the United States Naval Academy. Since his time at Navy, they have become a national power and have even achieved a top ten national ranking. Paul lives in the Annapolis area. After several years at Navy, Paul accepted a position at UCLA. The program is a perennial national power and reached the NCAA Final Four in Paul's first year there. Paul is also a US Region ODP Coach on top of his college coaching commitments. We wish he would become an Academy One Director, but he is just too busy! Paul resides in the Los Angeles area.

Mike has been a member of Academy One Goalkeeping since the summer of 2012 and is widely acclaimed within his age group in the D.C. area. He’s played organized soccer in Northern Virginia at all levels from an early age, progressing through the ranks and playing for numerous Division 1 NCSL teams prior to college play. During that period, he was selected for Virginia’s Olympic Development Program (ODP), North District, for several years and led his U-18 ‘Super Y’ team to the North American Finals in Tampa, Florida. At Brentsville District High School, he played on his school’s varsity soccer team for four years, leading his team to the state quarterfinals his junior year as the team’s starting keeper. During that run he secured seven (7) shutouts in regular season play. As a high school senior and team captain, after winning two consecutive District Championships as the team’s keeper, Mike was named to the All-District first team, All-Region second team and received ‘Washington Post All-Met’ honors. Out of high school he was recruited by the Radford University men’s NCAA Division I soccer team. He played one year for Radford and then he transferred to Marymount University in Arlington where he served as its starting goalkeeper for his entire career at the school. During U-20 summer ‘Super Y’ League play with the Northern Virginia Royals, in recognition of his potential, Mike was asked to train with its PDL team. Mike was known for his athleticism, toughness and determination as a result of his inspired and stingy approach to tending the net. He finished his career as one of the finest keepers that Marymount University ever had. Mike graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice. Mike settled in the Northern Virginia/Washington DC area and is involved in business marketing, sales, and business development.

Kyle became a member of AOG back in 2006. He was one of the best goalkeepers in Maryland for his age. Kyle led his Freestate Elite club team to three straight Maryland State Cup Championships. They were also finalist on two other occasions. The team was consistently at the top of the Region I Premier League. Kyle was a member of the Maryland ODP State Team for eight years and was a member of the Region I ODP pool for 1 year before the days of US Soccer Academy. Kyle was a four year starter at Archbishop Spalding High School that played in the MIAA, which was/is considered the best private school conference in the nation. He was the captain of the team his senior year. Kyle earned the Academy One Goalkeeping Academic Award. After graduating as an honor student from Archbishop Spalding, Kyle accepted a scholarship to play at NCAA Division I Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland. Kyle was able to earn starting time in his freshmen year. After his freshmen year, Kyle made a very hard decision to end his soccer career and transfer to the University of Maryland where he finished his degree in Economics and Statistics. After graduation, Kyle works in the field of political consultation, statistical insight to the strategic consulting and opinion research services. He lives in the Annapolis area of Maryland.

Patrick attended Liberty University and was in the Marine Corps ROTC program, but his life took a turn again and he ended up at George Mason University where he earned a degree in Accounting. He is still very active and he loves to hunt and fish. He works in the Washington DC area and lives with his noble wife and children.

He went on to become strategically and technically one of the best keepers in the state through hard work and intelligence. He played club soccer at the top levels of the top league in the country in its time. As a junior, Nick was a member of the inaugural year of the US Soccer Academy Potomac team. He shared starting duties with fellow Academy One member Sean Killion. As a high school keeper, Nick suffered through three years as a starter at the historically soccer weak Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria, Virginia. Playing against the best private schools in the DC area (And the nation), Nick was able to help Ireton to better than usual seasons as their keeper. Nick is also a winner of the Academy One Academic Award. After graduating as an honor student, Nick turned down several prestigious offers to play college soccer - including Division I NCAA schools - so he could focus on his education as an engineer. Nick attended Virginia Tech University. While growing up, Nick had been a competitive skier since he was a child. By the time he graduated high school, Nick was among the best skiers in the country. As a member of the Virginia Tech ski team, Nick helped the Hokies to the USCSA Nationals (The skiing equivalent of the NCAA finals) in his freshmen year. This was the first time Virginia Tech had reached that level in 26 years! Nick helped Virginia Tech repeat this accomplishment again in his time at Virginia Tech. After graduating from Virginia Tech with a degree in Aerospace Engineering and minoring in Naval Engineering, as well as Green Engineering. Nick stayed at Virginia Tech and earned a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering. Nick spent some time traveling the world before settling into various engineering positions. He eventually ended up at the Boeing Corporation and its world leading facilities in Washington State. Nick lives in the Seattle area and is able to ski and play soccer when he can.

Kelsey has been an Academy member since 2004. Not only is Kelsey an excellent goalkeeper, but an excellent all-around athlete and scholar. During her high school years at Linganore High School in Frederick, Maryland, she was a two-time soccer team MVP and a member of the Maryland All-State team. She was named to Frederick All-County teams all four years of high school. The first two years she was All-County was as a midfielder. Kelsey was All-Conference on three occasions. She holds school career records in four goalkeeping categories, including: goals-against average, shutouts, saves and save percentage. She received two varsity letters in basketball and played for the Blue Ridge Force AAU basketball team for three years. Kelsey was a member of the National Honor Society in high school. As a club keeper, she was a member of a Maryland State Cup finalist squad in 2008 and won a Region 1 Colonial League championship that year. She played in the Region 1 League in the spring of 2009 and her team made the State Cup semi-finals that year. In 2010, Kelsey's club team finished 2nd in the state losing to Allison Griffin and Shelby Perkin's Laurel team in the finals. Kelsey was a seven year member of the Maryland ODP team and a one year member of the Region I ODP team in the days before US Soccer Academy. Kelsey played for the Maryland ODP Brazilian Team in 2004. Kelsey earned the Academy One Academic Award. Kelsey was a member of the Northern Virginia Majestics U-20 Super Y-League team as the primary starter playing up in age group both years. Kelsey chose to attend and play for the nationally ranked Villanova Wildcats. As a Freshmen, she earned starting time and even managed to get a little time as a field player. As a Sophomore, she again earned playing time and was named Big East Academic All-Star. Kelsey was a member of the W-League Northern Virginia Majestics team. Kelsey continued with Villanova and the Majestics and graduated from Villanova after a successful career and a degree in Communications. She then finished a Master's Degree at Virginia Commonwealth University in Sports Management and Education while playing her last year of college eligibility. After finishing her college career as a player with success, Kelsey moved to Australia and an opportunity to play professional soccer. She started her pro career at Heidelberg United. She was the starter and led the team to success and an appearance in the the WPL Grand Final. After the season Kelsey was named to the Best 11 and Goalkeeper of the Year. She then moved up to the Premier League of Australian women's soccer with Melbourne City FC/Glaxy United in the W-League. She was on the books for Melbourne FC's Championship. All the time she was playing in Australia, Kelsey was a highly industrious young woman. She earned another Master's Degree in Business Administration and started work on her Doctorate at La Trobe University. She was also a coach for every club where she played. She was a team coach and a goalkeeper coach for the youth programs. She also worked with Impact Soccer, Baseball Victoria, and Pro Life Soccer in various administrative, educational, and inspirational aspects. Kelsey and her dogs reside in Melbourne, Australia.
