Morgan Ruhl
Morgan joined the Academy in the summer of 2010. She attends the same high school as Academy member Matt Sanchez. Morgan is the starting keeper at her high school, a member of the National Honor Society and also plays varsity softball. Her high school team is ranked among the top teams in the state, region and nation. They won the prestigious Baltimore area private school championship twice in the best conference in the nation for girl's high school soccer. In leading her team to the title in her junior year, Morgan was named All-Conference and All-State. Before her senior year in high school, Morgan was named one of the top 100 players in the nation by Soccer America. In her senior year, she again matched the All-Conference and All-State accomplishments and was also named All-Met and All-County in leading her high school team to the Baltimore private school championship and a national ranking. She finished her high school soccer career as one of the greatest players to have ever played at her school. More than her high school accomplishments, Morgan is among the best club goalkeepers in the country. She is a two year member of the US National team. She is a two year member of the Region I ODP team and a four year member of the Maryland State ODP team. During her junior year, Morgan's club team won the Virginia State Cup, the Region I Championship and finished second at US Nationals. Morgan went on to achieve the Golden Glove Award at the Adidas ESP Camp for the top 100 players in the nation. Morgan changed to a more local club team in her senior year and has led her current team to national prominence in tournament and state cup play. In the fall of her senior year, Morgan committed to a scholarship to play at Louisiana State University. Morgan lives on a working farm and plays the flute.
