Hassan "Moose" Mostafa
Hassan joined the Academy in the Summer of 2011. He is an excellent athlete and has a great deal of potential as a goalkeeper. He has only focused upon being a goalkeeper since his sophomore year in high school. He had been an excellent forward before focusing on goalkeeping. He currently plays club for one of the top teams in the region that is ranked nationally, Soccer Association of Columbia. They play in the Region I Premier league for the top club teams in the Northeastern United States. His team SAC is a perennial power in premier level tournaments all over the country. Later on in his soccer career, Hassan moved to the Pachuca Club team that was among the best in Maryland and the Northeast Region. Hassan has started for his high school team since his freshmen year. His Oakland Mills High School team is a well established among public high schools as a national power. His Oakland Mills High School team has won more Maryland State Championships than any other school in Maryland history. In the summer of 2011 he led his Real Maryland Super Y-League team to the US National playoffs. Hassan proves his excellent athletic abilities by being a starter on his varsity tennis and JV basketball team as a point guard. After his senior year of high school, Hassan was named Maryland All-State (Along with other Academy One members Matt Sanchez and Graham Kindermann). Hassan chose to play soccer and attend Frostburg State University in Western Maryland. He received starting time almost immediately. He led his Frostburg team into the CAC Conference playoffs and was named Athlete of the Week at Frostburg.
