Erik became a member of Academy One Goalkeeping in the Spring of 2012. Along with other members of the Academy class of 2013, Erik is one of the best goalkeepers in the country in his age group and one of the best students in the Academy. He is the starting goalkeeper for one of the best U-16 Academies in the nation, Philadelphia's Delco Academy. Erik has been a member of the Delco Academy program since 2009. In the 2011/2012 season, he led his Delco Academy team to a third place finish in the toughest Academy division in the country. He was named to the All-Academy TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week for the first week of June. He has attended three U.S. Soccer National Market Training Centers hosted by U.S. National Team Staff and the Philadelphia Union (2010-2011). Erik trained with the Philadelphia Union Youth Academy in the winter of 2011-2012 and was a member of their U-16 roster pool. Prior to his Delco Academy team, he played his club soccer at CASA CAPA and was a year to year member of the Eastern Pennsylvania ODP team. He participated in the Super Y program through the Harrisburg City Islanders where he met future goalkeeper trainer Dave Kern (Academy One Goalkeeping Director). Before his senior year of high school, Erik decided to leave Delco Academy so he could play his final season of high school.A three-year starter on the varsity soccer team at Mechanicsburg Area High School, Erik was named First Team All-Keystone Division, First Team Mid-Penn, Patriot News Player to Watch, and Central Pennsylvania Big 11 as a senior, despite a horrible leg injury near the end of the season. He earned All-Sentinel Honorable Mention recognition, as well. Erik posted a 1.00 GAA during his senior campaign and he is one of two players in school history to win Mid-Penn Division two times as a starter. Erik earned an excellent SAT and ACT score and a nearly flawless grade point average. In the summer after his Junior year of high school, Erik committed to study and play soccer at Brown University in the prestigious Ivy League Conference. In his first season at Brown, Erik earned the number two goalkeeper spot. Besides soccer, Erik enjoys playing basketball, golf, and tennis when not spending time with family and friends. He is an excellent coach and loves to help younger players.
