Emma Nichols
Emma joined the Academy in the summer of 2010 as its Northern most member. She is one of the most accomplished and well-rounded individuals to join the Academy. Emma resides in suburban Boston where she is one of the finest students the Academy has ever had. Emma has earned one of the highest grade point averages and SAT scores in the Academy's history (2250+ and 3700+ counting the SAT IIs). She has won multiple academic awards in Science and Spanish, as well as being an accomplished and award winning musician. Emma is equally as talented as a goalkeeper. Her club team has won a Massachusetts State Cup and finished 2nd in Region I in 2009. They were also Regional New England Futsal Champions. Emma was a member of the Massachussetts State ODP team over several years. All this is more remarkable considering that Emma has only recently focused on soccer. For many years she was a regionally ranked figure skater in New England. After giving up figure skating, Emma was one of the top high school ice hockey players in her state. Emma founded a book drive for disadvantaged youth that has donated over 7000 books since 2007. With numerous offers from many excellent schools (MIT, Bowdoin, Johns Hopkins etc.) Emma committed to play soccer and attend prestigious Vassar College for the fall of 2012. Emma won the Academy One Academic Award for 2012 in one of the closest races in Academy history.
