Corey "Cornbread" Connelly
Corey became a member of AOG back in 2002. He was among the best students and goalkeepers the Academy has ever had. Corey grew up in the Louisville, Kentucky area of the Midwest. He attended Dupont Manual High School where he was an honor student and an All-Region basketball player. Because of mediocre coaching situation, Corey played football instead of soccer. As a club player, Corey had one of the best careers of any Academy member. Corey’s club team won six straight Kentucky State Championships and made the Region III finals twice. They were also a powerhouse in all the nation’s top tournaments. Corey was a three year member of the Kentucky State ODP team and a one year member of the Region III ODP team. After graduating from high school with honors and an SAT score among the highest in the Academy's history, Corey chose to attend nationally ranked and academically prestigious Stevens Institute of Technology in the New York City area over such schools as Princeton, Georgetown, and George Washington etc. With Corey in goal, Stevens won four Conference Championships and went to four NCAA Tournament “Sweet 16s.” In that time, Corey was named to four All-Conference Academic teams. Corey graduated with honors with a degree in Business Technology and Economics. He currently works at UBS in wealth management in New York City.
